This collection features The Beaufort Pattern (Center Design) from Royal Doulton of England, which was produced from 1935 to 1960. The central design features a lovely landscape in sepia tones with trees in the foreground and a castle atop a hill in the background. A multicolored floral halo is intricately graced around the rim. The rim is edged with a brown sawtooth band and trimmed with mustard yellow for contrast.

This pattern was produced with two variations, frequently referred to as the Light and Dark versions. While both use the same V1630 pattern number and were produced during the same time period, they have distinct color variations that set them apart. The most noticeable difference between the two designs is the color of the central landscape, which is more dramatic in the dark variation and more subtle in the light version. The overall look of the dark version is richer and more dramatic, with the dark trim and floral elements creating a more pronounced design. The overall look of the light version is more delicate and warm, with the light floral colors and yellow trim standing out subtly against the ivory background. All of the pieces in this set feature the Light variation.
